Our Story
Nova PM Group was born out of frustration.
As active real estate investors, we spent years building our own multifamily portfolio. Like many owners, we hired third-party property managers expecting them to maximize the performance of our investments. Instead, we experienced inconsistent leasing, rising operating costs, reactive management, and too many missed opportunities to improve property performance.
We knew there had to be a better way.
Rather than continuing to accept the status quo, we took over management ourselves.
We started with a renovated 12-unit apartment community. By treating leasing as a sales function rather than an administrative task, negotiating every vendor relationship, and constantly looking for operational improvements, we achieved record rental rates for the neighborhood while maintaining full occupancy and operating with expenses well below industry averages.
That experience changed how we think about property management.
Great property management is not passive. Every vacancy is an opportunity to maximize rent. Every expense should be challenged. Every vendor should earn your business. Every operational decision should improve the long-term performance of the asset.
As we expanded our portfolio, we vertically integrated every aspect of operations and refined systems that consistently produced stronger financial results, lower resident turnover, and better-maintained properties.
As our reputation grew, friends and fellow investors began asking us to manage their properties as well. Many shared the same frustrations we once had; property managers who simply maintained the status quo instead of actively improving performance.
Those early referrals eventually became Nova PM Group.
Today, we manage every property with the same philosophies that shaped our own portfolio. Every leasing decision, maintenance expense, vendor recommendation, and operational improvement is evaluated based on one simple question:
"If this were our investment, what would we do?"
That mindset continues to define everything we do.

Principal
Justin Novakovich is the Principal of Nova PM Group, where he oversees the firm's property management, leasing, construction management, and asset optimization services.
Before launching Nova PM Group, Justin built and operated his own multifamily investment portfolio throughout Southern California. After becoming frustrated with the inconsistent performance of traditional third-party property managers, he took over management of his own properties and developed the operational systems, leasing strategies, and financial discipline that dramatically improved occupancy, rental rates, operating expenses, and overall investment performance.
That firsthand experience became the foundation for Nova PM Group.
Today, Justin brings the same owner-focused approach to every client relationship. He believes exceptional property management requires far more than collecting rent and coordinating maintenance. It requires proactive leasing, disciplined operations, strategic decision-making, transparent communication, and an unwavering commitment to protecting and maximizing each owner's investment.
In addition to his real estate experience, Justin has spent more than a decade leading operations, technology, and large-scale business transformation initiatives for both Fortune 500 companies and startups. His background in operational excellence, financial management, process improvement, and technology enables Nova PM Group to bring a level of discipline and sophistication that is uncommon in boutique property management.
Justin has successfully overseen acquisitions, renovations, repositioning projects, leasing strategies, construction management, and day-to-day operations across a diverse portfolio of residential and multifamily properties. His expertise spans property operations, capital improvements, vendor management, budgeting, financial reporting, and long-term asset performance.
His philosophy is simple:
